May 2nd was a pretty perfect day. On that beautiful Saturday, Jake and I were married. We were so overwhelmed to finally see our closest friends and family in one place, chowing down on tacos and sippin' margaritas by the beach. For those that don't know, we got married at our friend's beautiful beach house in San Clemente, CA (we like that friend a lot...). The lush, Spanish-style home was such a lovely and casual backdrop for our day, which was really just one awesome party with 65 of our closest friends. We feel incredibly blessed to have had the opportunity to celebrate there!
My sisters, brother-in-law, Jake and I, all stayed the night at the house before the wedding, then woke up slowly, and enjoyed breakfast and coffee together before the festivities began. I can't express how much I loved this! It was so nice to spend the morning all together, eatin' bacon and getting excited for the day. At 10am, Jake and I kissed each other goodbye and went our separate ways to get all spiffed up (girls upstairs, guys downstairs). Champagne in hand, we got prettified as I did my best to soak up every moment. Prepare for photo overload...
Jake and I opted not to see each other before the ceremony, but still set aside a few minutes to pray over our marriage together. Man, that was special, guys. If you don't plan to do a "First Look" I still highly recommend doing something along these lines, which is technically called a "First Touch" (not a fan of that phrase because it makes that moment feel so cookie-cutter, which is far from it, but you get the idea!). You get so few moments together on your wedding day so anything you can do to maximize that time is really, really awesome.
An enormous "thank you" to my incredible photographer, Danielle Poff, who captured every moment so perfectly.
